We will always strive to provide a warm, loving, homely
atmosphere in which children will feel safe and secure,
and therefore be able to develop their skills in all areas,
physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language, in
a non-threatening environment. |

When programming, we
feel it is very important to take into account not only
groups of children, but also the special interests and
needs of the individual child. Therefore, planned interests
and needs are reflected in the activities for the children.
These activities are made to be fun and stimulating,
and to provide opportunities for socializing, sharing,
turn taking, problem solving and development of a positive
self-concept that is important for children to achieve.
The program needs to be flexible and age appropriate
activities provided will enable each child to develop
to his / her full potential. Equipment and materials
need to be durable, cover all areas of development,
and be well maintained at all times. |

Independence is important to children, so in order to
encourage this, we provide ongoing opportunities throughout
each day to enable the children to develop a positive
self-esteem. We feel it is very important to be a good
listener, and we always make ourselves available and approachable
to all parents and families. This will enable us to understand
each child and therefore we can provide support, advice
and help to each family. |

We believe that by providing a clean,
healthy and hygienic environment will stimulate
the physical, emotional and intellectual well being
of the children. This can be achieved through the
encouragement of self-cleanliness and by example.
It is very important to us to provide non-sexist
activities for all children. We encourage the girls
to participate in “stereo-typical” boy’s
activities and vice-a-versa. We believe that this
will be a catalyst for better relations between
the sexes and encouragement for equality. As boys
and girls are different, by urging them to participate
in the same activities, this will provide an outlet
for different kinds of behavior in all people. We
support the need to respect and promote the cultural
and social background of each child in care, so
that children develop good feelings about themselves
and others. We believe that keeping this in mind,
children will learn to have respect and pride, not
only for their own backgrounds, but for the backgrounds
of others as well. |

Overall, caring for young children is an immense
responsibility and one that we regard as very important as we
shape and mold children for the
future. |
